June Update

Life has been wonderful here at the Perry home. Busy, exhausting, noisy, and dirty...but wonderful. This little Spencer is keeping me on my toes. I wrestle him into his high chair and/or car seat 8 times a day, I chase him all around the house and pick up after him, and I desperately try to teach him how to talk. He's worth all the work.

Tonight I was feeling quite run-down, and the girls knew I needed a pick-me-up. They invited me to their room for a special "Love Presentation," in which they outlined all the reasons they love having me as their mother. It almost made up for all the whining and bickering that's taken place today. Okay, it TOTALLY made up for it!

We went to Naples Island for the annual pancake breakfast a couple of weeks ago, and the children got to have story time with the Contessa di Napoli (Queen of Naples). They had cookies, milk, a variety of stories, royalty, and a beautiful view. It couldn't have been better. And see how we brought our bunny with us? Yes, we have a bunny. (Details below)

While we were in Naples, we stopped by my old elementary school and visited the tree that I planted back in sixth grade. I was chosen to plant this tree for an Earth Day celebration back in 1990. I didn't feel that old until I saw how HUGE this tree has grown!

It was so fun to show the children where I went to school and daydreamed about the day I would be their mother.

And we had a quick, but great, visit with Eric's brother Jake and our beautful sister-in-law, Cami.

I'm getting ready to speak at EFY again this summer, so my nephews invited me to their ward fireside to practice one of my talks. Such a great group! Below are four of my nephews, my sister, two nieces, my brother, and my two daughters...and this is only a fraction of the family.

Here are the 10 of us! Lisa, Dad, Mom, Page, Laura, Robert (on the top row) and Ryan, Susan, Me, and Linda on the bottom row. We only get together once a year, if we're lucky, so this was a real treat!

Most of my wonderful in-laws got to come, too. We missed you, Bob! And if anyone is looking for a handsome guy to marry your sister, my little brother Ryan is available!

Eric took Ethan to the Father/Son Campout, and I don't think Ethan could have been happier than he was with this FROG! They even brought home 20 tadpoles, but 19 died the first day, and the little one who survived accidentally got cut in half when we were cleaning the water. Sorry, little guy!

And as convinced as I was that we'd NEVER get a bunny, we now have a cute little "Snowball" in our family. Our neighbors didn't want it anymore, so we bought it from them. Living with us has got to be better than being put to sleep, right? I've never seen such a cute bunny. He lets the girls swaddle him and hold him, and he's so patient with Spencer's noises and craziness. I think he was made for our family.

Doesn't he look happy to you?

So that's our update. Have a great day!

April, I love EVERYTHING about this beautiful post. I loved seeing the wonderful, life changing (because you all change lives) Wilson family all together in one place. I LOVED that fun story time at Naples. Please let me know next time that takes place, we'd love to join you.
That bunny is darling and fits right into your sweet family.
And that tree about made me cry. that is so special!
Right about now I need a "love presentation". Can I borrow your girls to mentor mine?
I'm serious.
You're going to ROCK EFY this summer!!!! You really are!
Love you lots.
Lets gather at the Bay some day soon.
